We managed to finish our lite version of My Virtual Girlfriend and submit a build to the Apple on the 20th. The only problem was... William had done a "universal" build (which includes both the iphone and the ipad version). As you may know- we have a "virtual" studio so the hours we generally communicate are off a bit because he is in England, and I am in the United States. When he notified me that a new build was posted, he mentioned that he did a "universal" app build. I was a bit concerned for this because our ipad game was not ready. I suspected he readied all the graphics for it- or he uploaded an unfinished build.
I told him we needed to remove that build and put up a build for just the iphone. However, Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it), Apple, amazingly approved the binaries. I was a bit shocked at this because i didn't suspect it would get past their approval because all the raster graphics are made in iphone resolution, typical 320x480 screen size graphics, whereas ipad graphics are 1024 x 768 screen size. Much of the UI coordinates needed to be re-arranged as well. But since apple published it- then shortly locked down developers from accessing itunes connect for the next 5 days- there was no way to correct this problem. The best i could offer was to extend our sale price at $.99 for both iphone and ipad- and then patch the ipad with an update that fixes the known issues. So, thats where we are at now- we've fixed the issues but need to upload them. What a crazy week it's been.
